Meet Artelys during the 2022 ROADEF congress!
The ROADEF congress
The annual ROADEF conference aims at bringing together Operations Research practitioners. The objective is to promote exchanges and collaborations between researchers and industry, but also to participate in the training of young researchers strongly encouraged to present their work.
Operations Research (OR) is a science that deals with the development and application of advanced mathematics & analytics techniques in order to improve decision-making processes.
Sessions moderated by Artelys
Industrial and Operational Applications
This session aims to present operational solutions implemented in industries using Operations Research techniques. The presentations will illustrate the applications, challenges, techniques, benefits and resulting industrial transformations.
Supporting the energy and ecological transition using Operations Research
The impact of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions on global warming is now the subject of a broad scientific consensus. Thus, to limit global warming, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) considers it necessary to divide global GHG emissions observed in 2010 by at least three, within a few decades.
The purpose of this session is to present and discuss applications of Operations Research (OR) to problems inherent to the energy transition and the contributions that OR can make in the fight against global warming.
The session will be followed by a roundtable discussion in order to elaborate on the themes presented during the talks and to identify other perspectives on the application of OR techniques in the fight against climate change. Participants will also be invited to share the difficulties they have encountered in their work.

EEX launches auctions for French Biogas Guarantees of Origin
— The European Energy Exchange (EEX), in collaboration with the French Ministry of Energy, is introducing auctions for biogas Guarantees of Origin (GOs). Artelys provides the market-clearing technology to optimize the auction process, supporting renewable energy certification and decarbonization efforts.
Innovative grid technologies can improve renewable energy integration in the Latvian grid by up to 40%
—The power grid faces challenges in managing the increasing amounts of new wind and solar power generation. Grid Enhancing Technologies (GETs) are essential for optimizing the use of the existing infrastructure. Artelys carried out a study for Latvian Transmission System Operator (TSO) AST to assess the renewable generation hosting capacity of the transmission grid and to evaluate the benefits that GETs can provide to renewable integration. The study performed simulations using the open-source optimal flow tool, PowSyBI Metrix. Results show that Grid Enhancing Technologies can increase Renewable Energy Sources (RES) hosting capacity by up to 40% and were announced in the following press release.
Artelys Knitro 14.1: delivers very quick solutions on non-convex models
— We are pleased to announce that Artelys Knitro 14.0 is now available! This new version enables compagnies to solve complex non-linear optimization problems with unprecedented efficency and precision.
You missed the METIS 3 Dissemination event? The slides are now available!
— Artelys was thrilled to organize the METIS 3 Dissemination webinar on April 17, which was a great opportunity to present key studies and upgrades of METIS models and datasets conducted in the last four years, including exciting discussions with external panelists!
